On-Page Optimization - its done within your site. It deals with the proper use of title tags, meta tags, heading tags, alt attributes, keywords, description, sitemap, content and robots.txt.

keyword density is kind of a thing of the past, don't be so concerned with the how many times your keyword appears in a post, let the post flow naturally.

Onsite SEO is the changes you make to your website that will help your web pages to be filed or indexed correctly by the search engines. By doing this you are laying the foundation for future success in your search engine rankings.

After you have done the onsite Search Engine Optimization of your web pages you can then start with the Offsite SEO process – In the longterm your offsite search engine optimization will turn out to be the most important aspect of your success with search engine rankings.

The search engines must be able to find and read the content on your website to understand that it is relevant to what the search engine user is searching for, therefore you need to 'optimise the website' or address the onsite SEO issues to ensure that it is achieved. Put simply there are 2 main strands to onsite SEO: Content or Keywords, Technical Site Issues
