They can be very profitable, but adsense didn't work for me. I just had to find private advertisers for banners etc.

Only problem is you need decent hosting as arcades use loads of bandwidth when they are getting a good bit of traffic, the last thing you want is your site to go down when its making a load of money.

Who is spending money to advertise in your niche? Figure that out, then you'll have your answer.

Maybe private advertising companies in the software development and gaming development would be interested if you had good traffic.

The arcade clicks are relatively low. You need to consider your bandwidth costs and balance that with the revenues.

Arcade and video sites are the worst moneymaking niches, that's pretty much common info in the internet marketing world.

Arcades are profitable actually... my friend used to make $50/month with it, then he moved on to a bigger project. If you can pick a catchy and easy name you're set. And of-course you will require to spend some $ on advertising it and stuff :)

well that question is impossible to answer, it depends on how many games you upload, how much traffic you get etc.

best thing to do is go for a reliable hosting with either unmetered bandwidth or something around 250GB should be good enough until the site is full launched.

I own a profitable arcade website. The bandwidth is pretty heavy but it's not too bad. The problem is it is a VERY saturated market. There are really millions of arcade sites out there all competing for traffic. They are sort of in the same category as desktop background websites, myspace download sites, ringtone websites, etc.

this is encouraging. $50/month is not bad and could get bigger with lots traffic. i suppose i shouldn't just put games but also tips - a lot like blog with it too. how much should i spend to start if you knew please.

google generate 40 billion results for arcade sites and 87 billions for word arcade. Only hard effforts can bring u in top 10-20.

arcade adsense cpc is 3-5 cents and it take heavy bandwidth becoz img games and videos sites require more bandwidth / resources.

but if u really want to start then do research and analysis before anythign

Since all your games are about 1MB large (on an average), it really depends on your traffic. If you're getting a 1000UV a day to play your games, you're going to need to have at least 50GB of bandwidth. But some script allow you to host your files somewhere else.

$50/mo is $600/yr...that isn't exactly good. Especially if you're on a VPS and paying for $500-600/yr of hosting.
