Hello designers, I require a logo prototype designed with a Web 2.0 stylistic feel, bold and impactful, reflecting the theme and color palette provided below. I will provide constructive feedback to all entrants, up until contest closing. I will select only 1 winner. Biz name: TweetHelix.com Optional preliminary working tag line: "Twitter Data Synthesis" Basic Idea: Software that analyzes massive sets of Twitter data, detecting patterns, and providing clients with data they can use for their business. Delivery Format: Photoshop + Illustrator vector (if available) Size: I would prefer it to be more width dominated (rectangular), no more than 100 pixels in height, and 350 pixels or less in width. Motif: Please use your creativity to introduce design elements that reflect the theme. The "double helix" idea is related to DNA. Twitter data sets can be considered the DNA of microblogging. The "helix" symbol should be used in the logo. The Twitter bird should also be incorporated in some way since this application is specific to Twitter data only. Color Palette Desired: The image above displays the blue/gray dominated color scheme that will be used for the website template. The logo should be designed to fit well with these basic colors, and may incorporate some of them (as needed). Use other colors as needed. Note: The logo most likely will be placed over a dark/black header background. Web 2.0 Logo examples: http://www.logotwo.com/ Payment Method: I will pay via PayPal. Fine print: Winner must agree to transfer full copyright to me, for unrestricted future use, royalty free. Please do not incorporate any graphic elements for which you do not hold the copyright. Please, no stolen or purchased designs. Original work desired by skilled artists. Best of luck. I look forward to seeing your submissions. =) Please let me know if you have any questions. Joe
I like your 2nd better. The user of the more generic Twitter bird in logo 1 does not work. I need something that includes a symbol of a "double helix" somehow (preferably). The Twitter bird on its own is not sufficient. I am not a fan of the particular font face you used here, and I would prefer the colors be a little darker in tone similar to the color palette provided. Do you own the rights to the graphic icons used in the logos? Thank-you for your submissions.
Designed With A Black Back Ground In Mind. All The Colors used are within the Color Palette An Helix is used
Thank-you for the great entries. Here is some feedback for each entrant. @silent_thunder: My first impression is that I really like your submission, especially since it includes the dark colors I like. However, the complex Helix you used probably has too much detail for a logo (with the final detailed lines, etc). I'm also not 100% sure about the placement within the text. I do not like the outer glow in the 3rd variation. I think my favorite is the middle one with the lighter text colors. @khnfrhn: You are definitely zeroing in on the theme in your latest offerings, and I like the new colors for the text you have selected. I like the last one with the floating helix. The only issue is that at first glance, unfamiliar readers might have trouble understanding it is an "L" perhaps due to the vertical height that is larger than the other text characters. I'm not sure how these would work on a dark background unless you could put a white/light stroke outline around everything. @redeemer: I did not start out understanding the icon part, even though visually I really liked it and thought it worked great. Now I understand that you've combined the twitter bird plus helix idea into one near perfect symbol. So I am now a big fan of your creativity, in addition to your design work. Only possible revisions would be to increase the TwitterHelix font size a bit, do perfect right alignment on the "Twitter Data Synthesis" part (and make it a slight different color than the gray in the Twitter Helix text. So far your submission is my favorite. Thank-you to everyone for your great submissions. =)
@khnfrhn: It does not seem to work as well on the dark background. The white stroke seems to dominate the colored text part too much. Thank-you for the update.
@oliv3rd: I really like the 3D style you do with the mirroring. I would move the text up and to the right side. Probably would like to see it with colors closure to the palette provided. "TwitterHelix" text might be stronger without the 3D effect on that part. Overall - very nice design. =)
Oops! You're so right. I did not even notice. I titled the thread wrong, and then did not notice when the entries came in. It is TweetHelix.com. I'll work with the winner to adjust the text. Thank-you for bringing this to my attention. =)
@oliv3r: I like the version with the provided palette looks very good. I'm not sure if I would use the tagline above the main name. But I understand you did that so that you could continue the mirror effect with the text.
@Pixobox: You just made the contest very hard to pick a winner! Great work. I really like the concept and it looks great on black. The only things I would improve would be "Twitter Data Synthesis", making it more visible. And, also the Twitter bird does not look very much like the standard Twitter birds that you see. Something closer to the one seen here or via a Google image search would be better I think. http://twitter.com/goodies However, no need to modify it unless I choose you as the winner. I get the idea of what you're going for and it looks fantastic. =)
