    I'd like to know what are your methods to promote a business via Facebook. What I'm doing is created a fanpage and adding members there.

    Creating pages for promotion is a great way to advertise your business with FB users just try to advertise your fan page with fb ads the more member you gain the more they'll closer to know your business.

    Personally, I think facebook is overrated. Don't get me wrong, if you have the right niche facebook can really help you out. But for the most part you can spend more time on something else and yield more results.

    If the nature of your business is b2c then facebook can work - else if you want to sell your products and services to businesses then I will suggest trying linkedin

    This is about the best thing you can do.

    Also create your own page, advertise it in related groups. I have gotten many customers from facebook, its a goldmine if you do it right!

    Thats practically what I did, also make constant update so that all the members who liked your pafe will get an update about the site activity.

    I also had the same question with this. I have the seal on my website, the "like us" button, but exactly how does it promote your business? What do you mean by "joining a group"? I have a company page, with a few likes, but not many posts on it.

    Like if for your fan page, a group is different as people instead of liking it as to join it to enter the group discussion. By maintaining an active FB page or group you can send constant and active traffic to your site.

    Well creating fan pages and groups is very easy, but to maintain them and increase the members for that page or group is what shows your ability to innovate ideas ;)
    Make sure you do proper viral marketing for your fan pages or groups so you get more and more "real" visitors instead of the fake ones which is filled up in every possible niche on facebook. Also try Facebook advertising for a couple of months or weeks to find out what your competitors are doing on facebook ;)
