    KeyboardHustler, im suggesting you to find another WP theme. This one have black background, visitors will be more interested in reading if the background is light. It's difficult for many people to read and light background is attracting more.

    Those are not "basic blogger methods". The basics to any blog is to fill it with interesting original content. Do that on a regular basis and your traffic will grow. You will also start to see just how annoying spam comments are when they start doing it to you.
