how to promote online storage, sharing, backup....site?

hi, all!
there are many sites that give the service, such as online storage, upload and download, backup, sharing, web hosting and FTP server. so how to turn a great site to be unique, known site? now i use a service at DriveHQ.com, i think it is a great online storage site, i dont know how to promote the site to let many more people known, so could somebody give me a suggestion?

 

1- register & post in forums related to web hosting....
2- post in groups

but sometimes members in forums feel me a man to spam.

Well first you are not supposed to put referral IDs in your posts... yeah I know it's weird... but they allow it in your signature...

I have signed up for Box.NET and wrote an article about how to use it to mount it in your windows explorer and made about $35 from people signing up...

So writing an article about it can do the trick... however... there has to be an edge. (in my case the fact you can mount it as an online drive with no drivers, etc.)

 

you posting opens my eyes. you are good at promoting.
and i think you have a successful promotion.
but it is easy said then done. if i wanna be a good promotion who like you.
i have to learn more.
