How long did it take you to get to 15K posts?

The reason I am asking is that I have a contest going on now. When the forum reaches 15k posts, the member with the most points will win $100 Paypal. Just wondering if this is a good amount. Thanks.

On one forum, 7 months; on another, 1 to 2 months; and a third is 3 months old and is only halfway to 15k posts. It just depends on each forum and the activity levels its seeing.

^^ said it well, looks more like a forum promotion technique rather than a real query, when you have posted especially it could be reached in 2 months on your forum.

Just to mention, the post rates offered to the members are the cheapest/lowest I have come across. I am not sure what you are going to offer in VIP though, it could be nothing more than few additional features.

Anyhow, on the topic - 15k can be reached even in a month for a forum with quality content but if you are looking at an individual - quality content would take up to 75 days to the minimum unless he/she copy-pastes the work from an x location

for new forums the process is little slower.

if you can market right may be 5 months.

Why would you think this is spam? I didn't even give you the link to my site. I was just asking to see if 15K posts was too much or too little. I can't change the rules in the middle of the contest.

Actually, I don't think it would hurt too many people if you did. Your forum only has two members.

I meant that I am asking now before I have members so that I am prepared. But someone mentioned that this is spam or an advertising technique or something. I also meant that I can't change the rules when I have 100 members posting and the 15K post count is coming up in a week and I realize that it was too fast or something.

Too many variables to say definitively. For this forum it was about 3.5 months.

It took my main forum about 6 - 8 months to reach 15,000 post.
My gaming forum has been open for 18 months, and has yet to reach 15,000 post.
My wifes forum has been open for about 14 month, and has not reached 15,000 post.

There are too many factors to say your going to reach 15,000 post in a certain amount of time.

My latest forum I guess about 2 weeks. Maybe a bit less.

I can get 10k posts on any forum I want in a weeks time.

    Hi

10k posts in a weeks time? are these just copy and pastes from other forums? or are they of low quality? if they are genuine then let us all know your secret :p
