How to find IP of Invalid-Clicker in Access Log files

Discussion in 'Traffic Analysis' started by greatlogix, Jan 16, 2010.

Someone is doing invalid clicks (on ad-sense ads) on one of my sites. I am getting 1000+ invalid clicks daily. How can I find IP of Invalid-Clicker in Access Log files. Access log file size is 1.31MB for last 24 hours. Is there any easy way to find IP or domain name for the invalid-clicker so that I can ban that IP/Domain

I have checked log file, there is no any IP who clicked thousand times. Google Ad-sense reports says clicks are 1396. Now what to do???

Is there any software to read/analyze logs?

Using the stats provided by webhosts and configured for the hosts multiple customers are pretty much useless to the individual site owner/administrator.

There are some small software tools, however the "majority" of these will not read anything as large as "1.3meg"

"Analog" is a free and excellent tool, however the required custom configuration required may be quite confusing.
There are some other configurable (required else the stats are no different than what your host is providing) tools.

Most folks simply use NotePad or any other text editor. I use WordPad.

Review the HELP files for "Google Ad-sense" and determine what criteria they use to come to this conclusion?
User Agent or IP or what ever?

I may be wrong but I don't think Google shows you the ip address of the visitor.

    My apologies for the confusion.

I've no clue what Google Ad-Sense provides as I've never used it.

Most IP's are obtained from viewing raw visitor logs.
