Keywords- Are daily keyword searches of 'less than 1000' Not worth going for?

Doing some keyword research, with googles keyword tool
    https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/KeywordToolExternal

    (using the exact search method)

I have read on the forum, only keyword phrases of daily searches of 2000-4000 are worth going for, as this shows alot of people are looking for them.

So does this mean that keywords which have a search of less than 1000 are not worth targeting?

    eg
    keyword phrase 1 - search volume = 834 searches
    keyword phrase 2 - search volume = 625 searches
    keyword phrase 3 - search volume = 462 searches
    keyword phrase 4 - search volume = 244 searches

(My strategy: they method is to find some keywords, build content around them, 1 keyword per page, and get good links to it)- but i just wanted to ask abou tthe search volume.

so are keywords with a search volume of less than 1000 a good choice to go for? or not that wise, as there aint that many searches for it?

if it isnt good to go for ones below 1000, then why not? Is there anybody who bases just on under 1000 searches? or it is better to go for the 2000-4000 range. What would be the maximum searches (4000, 5000, 992,000 lol, you would consider the range being?)

also, when doing this strategy (see above strategy) are we going for 'local search volume' or global?

I just made a 100k$ deal from a less than 1000 searches per day. It depends on the price of the product that you sell.

depends on what you want to achieve. My site keywords are searched less than 10 times a day, but since there is no competition, I receive most of the traffic.

1000 searches per day month = about 30'ish per day. Considering that you won't get all the searches for the term to your site, I'd avoid it.

My cutoff is usually about 80-100 searches per day, depending on the strength of the competition and the amount of Adwords spend for the keyword.

30 searches a day should be your minimum.
as mentioned above 100 is a good starting point.

remember, it is quoting searches not click throughs.

Typically traffic/ clicks are lower than searches.

i.e. they search for the term see the top ten then decide to try a different keyword.

Also keep an eye on the competition both in pages and in top ten.

Anytime you are evauluating a kw remember the value = searches X cost per click so if searches are low but CPC is hig it can still be worth it

I usually avoid anything less than 2,000 unless there is zero competition, then I would say go for it!

I think you should target less than 1000 search volume keywords also. 10 keywords with search volume around 700 each are equivalent to a 7,000 search volume keyword. You anyway work for the high search volume keywords, might as well work for these keywords also.
