All you need to know is it works. And works very well indeed, Shawn (guy who made the co-op) got to rank 4+5 on google for the keyword ebay by using the co-op.

The forums have been around for a year, I don't think the coop has. eh.

Yes it does "work", but it seems a little devious because of the instant effect it has and how Shawn made it so easy for all of us.

And by "work" I mean, if you want more backlinks with the exact anchor text you set.
    yes it does.
But it by no way means you will get top ranking for every ad you post up.

I'm still weary sometimes because of how easy to use it is, and the effect it has on well optimized pages.
But it does help with rankings and that's what brings me traffic, so I don't see why exactly I should stop. :p

If you want to leave go ahead and leave, what is the reason for starting a thread about it, do you think that members are going to cry about you leaving :p  :p

I quit advertising in the Wall Street Journal, maybe I can ask them to put an article on the front page of the paper to tell everyone, that makes a hell of a lot of sense.

    Good buy man :p

It has nothing to do with the co-op, if you look at all the results when searching eBay, they are all corporate sites that are coming back.

eBay's founder is one of Google's largest shareholders and largest advertisers also and they cleaned up the page because of that.

If there was a penalty being applied to Shawns ebay page then all the sites in the coop would also be penalized. Google says on one of their pages they dont target individual pages they incorporate algorithms to catch all the sites using the same technique.

I'm pretty sure that no page is going to rank anywhere in Google when it uses:
    <META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
    Code (markup):
    Agreed? :)

There is enough people in coop now, should make it invite only, or perhaps you have to go thru a phone interview before you join.   wow look these smiles make you read my post

Hmmm, maybe it should go Beta too... Ohh, wait... If Shawn did that he would have to rename everything... It would be the G-COOP... LOL!

We need the right kind of site first. Needs to be a large site with lots of content (pages) to earn weight in the system. We have some new ones, but they are PR0 at the moment because we just launched them. Is that important when new sites are accepted?

Doesn't matter, but you won't get much weight from them.

So what determines weight? A site authority grade from Digitalpoint?

Number of pages indexed, PR and the number of Ads you display on your own site are the big factors.
