No need to say that 'payment received and files sent' as its between you and your buyer (seller-buyer) so let this know to your buyer through PM.

    DON.

I can't see why you'd need to post this as a bump - I'm assuming you mean at the end of a contest when it's finished and you've won.

But also, it's not something that's between the buyer/seller only, it's to let everyone else know that the contest was a successful one.

Anything that is only between the buyer and the seller is a bump.

If it's the end of a contest, you post: "contest over; winners announced."

If it's a guy selling 30 copies of make-it-rich-overnight ebook, nobody cares that payment or files have been sent except the buyer or seller.

There no need to post to say a deal, contest, etc. is over. You post an end time for the contest in your original post. At hat time, it's over. If people can't read, that's their problem. When the deal is finished the winner can post their feedback of the deal in the thread. At that time, the OP can request to have the thread closed if they want the end of a deal more obvious to others.

Yes, use the bad post report button to request closure.

a related question for the mods:

i recently did a job for a DP member who initially contacted me via PM. can we use my BST thread to exchange itraders even though we didn't actually post anything about that particular job on the thread? should i post some kind of feedback on the thread as well, or would that be bumping?

Umm, I'd rather not start a new thread for my question as its somewhat similar. I have my own WTS thread and I was wondering if I can get buyers to post a review of my work whenever it happens. I usually refer all potential clients to my thread so it would be through my thread only. Legal or illegal?

    Reviews are legitimate posts.

Posting "thank you" to a review is a bump.

Posting that you have "xx review copies left" is a bump.

Posting that you have no more review copies is a bump.

Posting "I have sent xxx a review copy" is a bump.

Day after I read your post, I have posted in my thread:
    *Announcement*
Our *FREE Express Inclusion Special* will be over on Jan. 31, 2010

and got 1 point infraction for bumping.

    Did I misunderstood your directive?

I said post it in your original post (meaning when you create a thread). Posting later in your own thread to add an end time is a bump.

Well, now I'm confused even more.

I couldn’t imagine that we’ll be overwhelmed with flood of positive responses when I made original post,
which I must to admit I should made after reading tealeaves prediction.

I will appreciate if you or somebody else points me to Forum Rules that says that:
I cannot announce changes to my original offer, if it conditions and terms and circumstances are changed
and to communicate them to other members.

I would also appreciate if Mods, for the benefit of members, edify our need to know and to follow prescribed
course of actions in these specific circumstances.

Read the bumping sticky in BST (your responsibility to read all rules and stickies). Posting to share an end date is not allowed, nor are any of the other things listed there.
