    What I am doing wrong?
I'm doing article marketing to build backlinks but still is my
blog falling down in rank when I check in Alexa.

    Why?

Increase the pageviews per user; you can have a nice alexa rank if you have higher pageviews.

You have to spend time on your site to attract visitors. If your site is useful then traffic will come.

For blogs, I have found adding just one post a day will get the best pages indexed in Google. As soon as you post your content, submit it into social networks and viola your Alexa rank will soar skyhigh, also install the Alexa Toolbar.

You will lose your pagerank if you dont make backlinks anymore. That means if you made 10 backlinks in the first month than you should make more than 10 backlinks on the next month. Otherwise your PR will falling.

Get more traffic to your blog and you will see your alexa ranking rise.

You should write more blog post frequently.

Engage in social media like Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon to bring more traffic and backlinks.

Don't solely depend on article marketing. Diversify your backlink creation method with blog commenting, forum posting, social bookmarking, etc.

great, now I start to understand.

So tell me, when I add a new post to my blog. Should I only engage
for example social medias with the new post, or the whole blog?

Even though visitors too, Every visitors want more and more information on the services / product you have and I don't think we can give all that information on just one page. IT will so confusing then.

Alexa counts visits. So the more traffic you have, the more pagerank you can get. So try to increase views from your site.

I believe you need to be patient first of all.
Once article is submitted you need to wait till it indexed and then you can count it. But as new page it might have no PR yet.

You can just continue with good seo activities for the website in the form of fresh and unique content, blog posting and social bookmarking as well.

Then start to do social bookmarking , Directory Submission , forum posing and create back link for ur site.
Frequanly u have to modify ur content that effact show in ur alexa rank.

    What Really Matters
When you take away everything else, what really matters is popularity. How well to people actually like a site. How much traffic does the site get? How many times has a site been Dugg, voted up on Reddit, favorited in Del.icio.us, Stumbled Upon, or Sphunn? If you’re a blogger… How many feedburner subscribers does your blog have? Do readers comment? What’s your technorati rank?

These are the indicators and goals that matter. Everything else is just for show.
