I have no idea how to do it.. I don't want to risk messing up my other posts but want to move one the posts that I don't want to show on the homepage but want it to be visible in the sidebar in the 'recent posts' section.. How do I do this? thanks.
To keep your post from appearing on the home page, set one of your posts as sticky to home page. To do that, go to edit posts -- select checkbox sticky and update that post.
if you want to make a static page, that could hide all of your new posts... select a static page for your homepage.. Settings > Reading
Ofcourse!!! It's so obvious I dont know why I didn't notice. You must be thinking 'what a small brain you have'. Thanks.
will the bots still see it though? it's gone from the 'recent posts' in the sidebar. I wanted it to appear there.
install two blogs..............................one for home page and other for your blog post..............you can use a folder name like blog..................and get all achieve code of your blog to home page sidebar................personal view.............
Wait a minute. You have to choose the quick edit, not the normal edit post to be able to choose the checkbox to make a post sticky. Secondly, this will make a chosen post sticky and keeps all other posts on the sidebar. There is no need to make this or any post private also
You are welcome. Actually I am not an expert in WP matters but there are quite a few of them here who can help you. It's nice to see someone heartily admit that she loves DP
