I am checking out different websites Alexa rank just to see my competitions traffic ranking. I am not sure if I am missing something but is there a way on Alexa to see roughly how many visitors a website is getting a day or week? If there is not a way on Alexa is there any other site that might give me a clue. Or is there a rough guideline if your site is ranked 500,000 or 100,000 or 1000? Thanks!
Can't you see how many visitors you are getting per day per wek per month in your cPanel's Awstats? Depending on your targeted search terms you also might bare in mind it is not always just quantity but quality that can mean a whole lot more when it comes to actual conversions!
He cannot check the awstats of the competitors website. To original poster: I have not found such a tool that was accurate. I think some of the tools on the web, do use the alexa ranking to estimate traffic. I also ear that the alexa ranking is bias towards webmaster site.
True Camay123 I was just fishing to see if the OP could find their daily/weekly/mothly visitor stats via a slightly savvy cPanel/Awstats thing, but as you say no service really reports competitor stats RE you own. Google tries as do Alexa and others but none really seem to reflect what is absoluetely accurate not even the services form the Mighty Big G!
Alexa really isn't built for showing you day-by-day traffic changes, it's mostly logged monthly/yearly and the results aren't typically helpful. You should just register for a Google Analytics account - it's free, and you get the highest-tech for tracking visits and such
they mainly use visitor count and pageviews. those data are collected from the people who use alexa toolbar. i wont even care much about it unless i sell links.
I do not think alexa is a good tool to check how many visitors to your site, you know it just do a record about those people who add alexa tool, why not use google anaylsis.
You can use Quantcast or Compete data for this. Finding the average number of visitors to a website per week.
Alexa just Rank a million site in the world, so alexa not have any specific traffic. alexa just knowing from global data such as search engine. and traffic site from search engine.
Hi, I use Google Analytics for my own site but I was just trying to figure out if I could see how much traffic a site gets regarding its Alexa rank.
The most recent site of mine I just analyised gets around 100 - 150 unique visits a day with an average of 4 page views and I rank around 350,000 and going down. Maybe that might give you an indication. I suggest you try out getclicly.com A very good programme that has lots of details about visits, pages they saw and lots more. Very effective.
I have seen the Alexa rank for my website but i have never focused more on that as i think that if you really need traffic to your website then you have to go with the right kind of SEO for your website...
I never check my website's traffic and ranking on Alexa, i think it is not accurate. Some friends in another forum told me, but i don't why.
Alexa ranking can not provide you with accurate figures of users on a particular website, The ranking system of Alexa entirely depends upon the users who have installed the alexa toolbar. you can try it by yourself, install the alexa toolbar and visit your website 8-10 times a day and you'll start noticing your alexa ranking getting better. You can easily get into the top 100,000 websites of alexa with around 5000 users a day.
That's the way it was, I think you will find Alexa now use many other metrics and it does not only include those who have Amazons Alexa Toolbar!
