I think the answer is that it can be very profitable if you are prepared to work at it. If you're after an easy ride with no work then, guess what, you probably won't make much in the way of profits. Web hosting is simply buying and selling at a profit. You can get a hosting account where you can host multiple sites at places like HostGator.com. If you price your services competitively but at a level that gives you a good profit (by no means very difficult) then the only other thing you have to do is to promote your service effectively and get yourself a supply of customers. That last point is where most people fall down on this kind of business, but if you work at it enough you should succeed. Why not find out and let us know how you got on?
I haven't looked into it much myself, but I've heard that it's one of the easier ways to make money on the web. You should definitely at least look into it.
Maybe it's not a profitable thing.Nowadays, there are more and more hosting companys. If you can't find out some efficient way to promote your business,it's very hard for you to develop. But if you're good at this area, you can just have a try.
Not too profitable, huh? Au contraire, folks - if you are looking at it by itself, as a business, sure it's tough to get into. The market is super saturated in the traditional avenues of advertising for the most part. There is money to be made, however, and in many cases you will find that reseller hosting can and will complement your main business(depending on what it is). The point wouldn't be to sell the hosting but to offer it conveniently packaged with something else as the primary sale like web design, etc., etc. ...and consider for example hostgator which offers coupons that you can offer your customers for incentive. Think OOTB! Cheers, C##########
Yes coz you no need to maintain the server plus all you need to do is 100% concentrate on serving your client.
It depends. If you are able to purchase a reseller account that can host 3/4 sites for really cheap you'll be able to make a lot of money if you sell off the accounts cheap. It is hard to gain clients though.
Not especially in my experience. The amount of time you will spend giving support, setting everything up etc isn't worth the amount of profit made reselling the services. The market is far too saturated to get the number of sign-ups needed to stay alive in the business - it's all with the big companies nowadays.
Why not look at it this way. I have reseller hosting and concentrated on getting just a few clients. Now I have pretty much unlimited free hosting to do my IM work. Very little hassle. Try compartmentalizing your business so that each part is a monthly profit center on it's own.
