Contest $ 42 Contest - Military Logo + Banner

Hey all,
I would like a logo and banner for a Military video, image, and discussion site called GorillaGunner

Logo Wants
Click Here for a starting point, sample hand sketch of something of the direction of what I want.
A Gorilla with a 50 Caliber or comparable Machine Gun slung across his chest
- Ammo Belts going across his shoulders
- A Helmet on his head
- I’m open to other ideas or things being done
- I’m even open to your ideas!!! It’s a CONTEST!!

Banner Wants: A Banner that goes along with your logo submission!

RULES:
- Logo and banner must be 300 DPI and Vectorable (780 X 200 bannerable)
- Only AKGhost will be in charge of judging and payment
- Feedback will be provided for all entries, only a final product will be accepted
- Contest will be closed and winner selected, upon which this thread ends.
- PSD and all associated files and all rights to the logo will be handed to Arin Ghosh by winner upon payment.

A Good start so far, keep those ideas flowing and remember what I provided was a VERY BASIC reference to be expanded on! All feedback is for all of the participants to use.

PLEASE keep in mind this is a serious military video, image, and discussion site so lets keep that serious balance there but still keep it brandable and funny.

@ General Notes:

For the machine gun a 50 Caliber or similar is wanted

Also, This gorilla is about to enter a war as a gunner , use your imagination to think about what else he'd take and let your imagination run wild; be creative!

@ Hecky: I wish you would have continued because your upper portion was AMAZING.

@Chewysmom - Good starting point and progress, keep it going
- make it more ape like and aggressive..
- I like the Banner text you've used

@track: - ammobelt needs to curve more
- more realistic feel would be desired
- Banner idea is innovative, run with it and see where it takes you
- Looking forward to future progressions.

@minucosminu - The arms could be more Gorilla like (thicker)
- LOVE the banner idea and the Gorilla there, fantastic,
- thank you for using 780 X 200.
- Good thinking with the design! Keep it up with future

As you can see, this is only a draft of the character. I will continue working with it if you say so.

@ Dakouten: Awesome work so far! The Gorilla so far reminds me of a kid getting ready for war, maybe we can make the Gorilla + Weapon larger, more mean looking (a girl told me it's "soooo cute"), and more accesorized, bullets etc?

@ Masjacky: Nice work so far! Perhaps we can change the color scheme of the Gorilla to more brownish. The banner text isnt clicking for me. Keep up the good work! I love the Gorilla though, that is one pissed off gorilla!

@ Minucosminu: Keep up the fantastic work. If you can adopt the 50 caliber machine gun that would be awesome. Now let your imagination go wild with the design otherwise. Also, if you could add some emotion to the Gorilla, Masjacky's Gorilla looks pissed off.

@ ac-designs: looking forward to your entry. Yes, this is more a competition for the brave.

@ Dakouten: You're certainly on the right track! Well done! I'm going to give extensive feedback here because you're the latest to get feedback.
- The Gorilla's facial aggression has to find its way into the gorilla a bit more, perhaps more muscular etc.
- Keep your imagination flowing, perhaps some grenades attached to him? Maybe another ammo belt going in the other direction?
- For the banner, that banner is peacetime, perhaps make a wartime banner/landscape with revised text, the textual design of minucosminu is quite nice.
- Keep up the fantastic work!

FOR ALL: A few more people are going to enter this competition with fresh designs as they've PMed me. A lot of people are accepting this challenge and I applaud all of you who are fighting for this one!
