If you can go for the .com. .info domains are not getting a lot of respect in some sectors.

Agreed, stick to .com. The trouble is that so many .com domains are already registered. If I can find the perfect keyword in .info I would consider it.

Many webmasters consider .info a spam haven (because the domains are cheap people can register them, spam and them dump the domain). So, the websites/domains can be tougher to sell or sell for lower prices.

Google doesn't treat .com and .info any differently from a ranking perspective. But users and other webmasters often see .info sites as far less legitimate.

This means that even if you do get example.info URLs to rank, the click-thru-rate on them would likely be FAR less than if the the same page with example.com had ranked the same.

It also means that getting inbound links naturally from other webmasters is going to be much harder with a .info than with a similar .com domain.

Personally, I would always pick a .com with a less desirable domain name over a .info domain name that is keyword rich. If you're not going to use a .com then I would recommend going after a .net or .org over a .info domain.

Domain extensions are pretty much the same in the eyes of search engines. Google doesn't favor any domain names.

If the domain you're looking for is taken from .com, try using .net or .org for it. Those are better alternatives thank .info, those domains seem cheap and nobody really uses them for good SEO tactics

I prefer .com because it is way much popular than .info although there are loads of .com registered domain already...But if your website is a business domain cater to your community then it is much better to choose country specific domain . But anyway no matter what you choose is acceptable as long as your promote your website in full domain name

.info is cheap if keyword rich domains from .net .org .com I would consider and probably take the .info one since it will help you rank higher.

The only reason between the domains is the top level domain extension - .info vs. .com. Search engine results do not favor either over the other. What matters is the content you put up on these sites.

If you are going to establish a site, .com I think is the good one. Most sites uses .info domain are directories and those sites that offers information and not for business.
