That'll be a huge loss for the internet users in China.
I hope they won't withdraw services like Adsense and Adwords for Chinese people.

I think it is a good decision by google to withdraw from the Chinese market, not per se a good decision in the commercial sense maybe but then again they would lose their credibility by complying with censory

it's because China is one of the few places where google isn't the largest search engine. I think it's Baidu in mainland China. They can't afford to continue investing money to compete because they're spread out too far industry wise. Plus they can't offer all the services they offer elsewhere due to censorship and having to comply with Chinese laws. Things like email and search privacy are tricky since the government wants access to it and they don't want to hand it over.

When all the big companies are heading into China, Google is bowing out. That is a stupid decision. Even though China government does not like Google, the Chinese love it.

It was wrong to make concessions when moving into China at the first place.
What's the slogan again? "Do no Evil"
It remains to be seen if they really pull out.
I don't think China is a market. There, they need to get their acts together first.
When it happens that Google moves out many other corporation will follow suit.
After all, it's about hacking into databases Google can't effort and not just Google DB als Govt and Corporation databases got and getting hacked.

Chinese are not stupid, they have a culture of a certain kind of creativity, lol. :p

Its not spam, its because hackers sponsored or controlled by the Chinese government have been hacking Gmail.
