Okay, I fully get how important backlinks are in SEO.

So, let's just "imagine" that I have some bucks set aside for SEO and I've done the social networking scene, articles and directories.

My thinking is to now secure some PERMANENT one-way links from niche related sites. What would be your recommendation on how to accomplish this?? Preferred source ??

Thanks very much for your input!

I suggest you to search for in-content permanent links from related blog post.

For me, content section carries highest value in backlinks.

Getting a permanent in-content backlinks from existing relevant blog post with low outbound links is my strong recommendation.

Good tips Atniz - in-content links are the ones to aim for.

There are companies who can get you in-content permanent links but their rates are not cheap (be prepared to spend at least $1000 per month). If your budget doesn't extend this far, you'd need to scour the link sales section of these forums for in-content blog posts, but decent blogs will be difficult to find and it will be quite a time consuming exercise.

Profile links is a way to go (can ofer quote)
Blog commenting and Forum posting (on related blogs/sites) is another way
