Does SEO Efforts really help a site generate traffic to a site on being No:1 in the search results.

 

Only SEO can effect on your site without seo I don't think your site can get rank on #1. Through SEO you can increase your traffic and business as well in all over the world.

Totally agree. But if you have the time and money, it would be wise to spend it on SEO instead of PPC as the result of SEO work would last for a lot longer time!

what else should help if not SEO? if you want to rank naturally on top you have to
have a website that is so special that everyone will link to it voluntarily. but even if
they do this it doesnt mean that you will rank higher for your desired keyword because
those who link to you will choose their linktext.
