Pinging your site - Pingler

Hi all, I have a few sites that I created, they are all less than a month old and they ranked pretty well in google. All seemed to hover around 11-15 spot for its main keyword. This is pretty good for new sites, however as we all know its not good enough :) Ive tried a few things such as back linking etc to get things moving and heard about a site called pingler.com - I decided to use this yesterday and pinged the new sites. Note that new content had NOT been added to the sites. The only new thing since the month was that I had done some new backlinks, and also note that the sites are not blogs.

Anyway, this morning I decided to see if it made a difference, and indeed it did. All the sites lost their ranks and now around the 300+ range. I know sometimes google does this when it is shuffling things around until it figures out where it should properly rank, I am hoping this is the case and maybe it just needs a few days... but im pissed off at making this mistake! Anyone have any advice or comments?

Pure coincidence. Using pingler can't hurt you unless you ping it many times without updating your content.

Im pretty sure it was the pinging, as their were a couple other sites that I did not get to ping and their rankings still remain the same. The ones that I pinged which were about 8 were the ones affected.

I hope they do bounce back, I will give it maybe a week or so? do some updates and ping them again. At this point, there really is nothing to lose I guess. Unless someone has any other suggestions. Sites are not wordpress, just straight html. I know pinging is usually for blogs however it would probably benefit any site.

It's absolutly not the pinging. Not unless you pinged it repeatedly several times.

I am sure the drop in rankings has nothing to do with the pingings. Your results would have been shuffled around anyways. It is part of the google dance.
