If you are just talking about an autoresponder it's probably Aweber, but the great thing about GVO is all the rest of what you get. Unlimited domains & hosting, easy Video Producer (probably worth the price alone), conference room, competition spy, etc. I joined GVO a short while and immediately quit aweber, hostgator & a bunch of list building programs. All round it the best thing I've found.
All GVO users will recommend GVO as they are also an affiliate from the service. Not only using all the different service they provide, which already consist of alot, you benefit from earning money through GVO. The business opportunity program is by far the best and trusted payout system I've encounter. Using services and make money concurrently. Definitely one of the best choice for internet marketers. Having a package of most tools and services an internet marketer would need. Rather than spending money on each and every tools. I myself liked GVO's autoresponder and reseller hosting most, I utilize them quite alot. Can read more of my GVO Review on my GVO Review Blog. Haven been updating it that regularly but yea, still sharing my GVO experience.
I use aweber and have no problems, autoresponders are excellent and they give you a great personal touch.
cheece2001, Aweber is a great choice for just an autoresponder. You will like it. I used it before going with GVO and had no problems. Just be aware that if you do get big you will be paying more than $20 a month. If you have a need for more tools than just an autoresponder check out GVO as their eresponder is almost as good as Aweber and you get lots of other features for free. donrock
I will go for Aweber as well. Its highly recommended by many people and friends I know.. Its the best for email marketing..
I researched Aweber and GVO - I'd go for GVO, I pay $9.95 for GVO to get auto responder, video producer, live training, blogger building and more. Why pay $20 for Aweber to get an auto responder only? It's not a popularity contest! It's about results and saving money- Be smart!
Auto-responders are very important for automation. GVO is a great tool that I truly believe everyone should be using as they provide you with so much.
Aweber and GetResponse put a ton of effort into deliverability - whether your email gets through people's ISPs or not. That's why they are such tough nuts to deal with on anything that hints at spam: it's because the ISPs will mark their mails as "spammers" if there are problems. GVO's deliverability rates are extremely unlikely to be as good. However, I have not used GVO personally: though, as someone else says, I am always a tad suspicious (sorry!) of folks recommending it, as they've got a multi-level type of thing going on. :-| In terms of an autoresponder, and this may be off the point, it may not be - what you really need to be able to do is to segment your lists - in other words, mark contacts so you know they are interested in a and b, but not c. Then you send them more mail on and a and b, get a higher open rate - which the ISPs notice and so that feeds back on your autoresponder's rating - and you are getting more relevant emails to you list members. You CAN do this with AW and GR, but it's a nightmare to achieve, and remember what you've done, as you have to use a new list for each segment AND you'll probably have to do some coding to add to multiple lists (AW and GR have varied how much they allow this - adding to multiple lists - over the years.) To get over this, I use Office Autopilot or you can use it's little brother, SendPepper. That allows you to add tags to each contact and a tag is an interest - or a segment. So: one record - and you can have as many tags as you like. So the "multiple lists" thing does not arise. I get on well with OA in terms of it email sequences. You can do cool things with sequences like this: 1. Send a certain email on a certain day to a certain group, or collection of groups 2. Two days later, send again to anyone who didn't open or click a link in that email 3. Another two days later send a final time to anyone who still has not opened or clicked a link. All this can be set up and scheduled in one operation - set and forget. And open rates **double or treble**. Now, THAT makes me pleased! So, anyone who has a mind to, check out OA or SendPepper. I hope this has been a useful contribution to your dilemma Cheers Malc PS Infusionsoft does much the same as OA, but from my research I think it's a b*tch to learn, use, maintain, and is a lot more expensive as you need a lot of custom work to get working to your liking. But anyone feel free to correct me on this as I have only read about it - many times - but not actually used it.
I was on another thread about this and I use Aweber along with most of the others, and yes also using GVO. The problem I have with GVO is that the deliverability is questionable at best. IN fact, in my case, any AOL prospects don't get emails ... at all !!! I tested it many times opting in from my AOL account ... and NOPE ... messages do NOT make it from GVO. So I stick with Aweber even thoughI'm not happy with their customer support
I use aweber, but I've noticed that recently I've been getting a lot of spam from users with GVO. yeah @Raymond, yeah GVO e-mails seem to automatically go to the junk folder, some Aweber messages too, but it's just a trickle compared to GVO.
I agree with the customer support thing, Raymond. AW and GR the same! It's almost as if they don't want your business sometimes. I suppose the answer is that they are so protective of their reputation – and hence deliverability rates – and they must get hit by so many spammers who they are always on the lookout for, that it must make them cynical after a while. I use Office Autopilot now – in fact I'm just swapping my last lists from Aweber over to 0A. OA are similarly paranoid about deliverability rates. They are a little easier to talk to, but the great thing about OA is that they, in effect, allow you to have multiple lists – because you can tag any contact with any number of tags which allows you to filter your contacts by tag. If you see what I mean LOL. This makes it a heck of a lot easier to manage segmenting, and sending to segments, than either AW or GR. Bummer about theGVO thing and AOL - but kudos to you for testing ;-) Malc
