Finally. I have submitted so many site's in the past and have never gotten one accepted. About a month ago I submitted a site my dad and I have been working on for a few months now...The site has already been accepted! Not only that, it's already actually sending some traffic!

I can't believe I've submitted sites months ago I have never heard back on..Yet, this one was accepted in about a month. INTERESTING!

    Anyways, I'm pretty excited :D

It's a tech site related to ham & amateur radio. It also deals with beacons and wardriving.

LOL @ Stingerftw...I was starting to think the same thing :(

Only technique is to submit a good unique type of website and you will be accepted I guess. My father and I kind of thought "outside the box" on this one..I guess that is the main difference between this site and others that I run by myself.

It's not usually about the site itself, it's more depending on how many editors there are in a specific section in DMOZ. Congratulations...

More than half the sites that get listed in DMOZ were never submitted in the first place. It does not get any quicker than that.

Congratulations FPForum! You've proven the statement that DMOZ editors repeat and repeat in various wordings ...

"submit a good unique type of website and you will be accepted".

Most submissions to DMOZ are sites that are highly derivative or outright copies of other sites. They usually have nearly duplicate merchandise if they are eCommerce-oriented, and, they show no originality of presentation - visual or otherwise.

Look critically at hundreds then thousands of submitted sites in your area of interest and you become desperate to find ONE or TWO that show any uniqueness at all. I can't speak for other editors but I get all geeky-excited when one DOES appear; I nervously rush to exactly describe it so I can add the site to my category.

I know most here won't "get" what I'm saying, and, they will probably find it amusing...

...but FPForum, YOU may be beginning to get it now :)

I agreed that only unique website can be accepted or indexed by DOMOZ. They like good-content website like search engine. I had submitted my site for three time. No good. I will keep on adding more useful content on our site and submit it to Domoz.

Please do keep adding content to your site, but you do not know that it has been reviewed by an editor. It can take from a few days to a few years to get a review and keep submitting means that it could be detrimental to the time you wait and enough submissions can get you banned as a spammer.

since when unique content it's a must for DMOZ listings lol ... there are hundreds of spam sites , even one page sites with few words copy pastes and some affiliate links , slash dot org stories ... and so on ... lol ... do you guys still believe that crap with '' unique content '' :D? had any of you even 10-20 minutes free to browse the directory and the sites listed around ?

I found my site in a couple of weeks ago (not the one listed in my signature), and I'd submitted it months ago. I went over there and they've been doing a clear up of their outstanding submissions and outside the World category claim to be totally free of outstanding submissions.
