Changing domain theme/niche after buying

    If there is a domain which has backlinks in music and entertainment and after buying I change its content to promote a travel website will it affect its PR.

    To make it stand alone site for specific niche you need to get fresh backlinks from relevant sites and forget about its existing links and page rank.

    Thanks for your replies. But are you telling this from experience or from what you have read somewhere. I am getting a very good deal for PR6 but in different niche, so wanted to know urgently.

    Also what if the original site is in spanish but same theme and I change the language and maintain the theme will the PR stilll be affected.

    Change in ownership coupled with change in the language will definitely reset all the credentials attached to the present website. You would be having a domain name which would be just as good as a brand new one...imo

    Yes PR will effected.
    But its minimum compare to you change the niche from music to travel.
