Forum signatures do help. They can bring backlinks and traffic to your site which will improve your page rank.

As far as back link is concerned,

Back links will give benefit in two ways that

if your back link from do follow blog or website then as per search engine norms it counts as back link.
But
if your back link from no follow blog or website then as per search engine norms that it's not considered as back link but it will help to increase traffic on your website.

 

It definitly does help in some ways, it's just more backlinks never the less, but I doubt that it's going to boost your PR by a lot, or even carry any PR juice over.

 

Agree, except most of the pages are not even pr0. Some are N/A. I've seen high pr post before, so you never know...
As for recommendation, even if it is next to nothing and you are pretty active on the forums, it doesn't hurt to put a link in a signature.

 

Just be sure that the forum is related to your niche and if it's a dofollow.

 

I do agree with some of you that the links from forums has very little benefit as compared with the links from article directory or link baiting. Though the forums with dofollow attribute will definitely help you to improve your PR

 

Well it gives very little pr juice but if you have 2-3k+ posts then it adds up and can have have an impact.

 

I just watched a video course on traffic recently where the guy mentioned renting some signatures from very active forum members with 1000's of posts. He wasn't trying to boost PR though, just traffic. And he was redirecting the traffic, so as not to flag his site for getting all those links at once. His results proved there is something to it though.

 

I have tried in some of my blog and I can say that it helps you in a way as long as the forum is do follow and has high PR ..I have tried using it in My new blog and I gain PR from it just by using forums links it was experimental to me in a way but it really helps
