    Hi,

I'm new to DP, pardon me if this is the wrong place to post my thread.

I'm a freelance web designer & developer, currently someone offers me to create a website similiar to http://www.webjet.com.au in terms of functionality and features.

its a complicated script and it will probably takes roughly 3 to 6 months of development. (not including the time needed to cooperate with travel agents, my job is only to create the script for the website)

how much should I charge for this kind of website?

    thanks all :)

Since you say 3-6, I think it can be done in 4 months :)
You may charge US$ 6000 - US$ 12000 depending on the complexity of the script. I have only considered the development cost, you may add a margin if you have to do the co-ordination, etc... The rates are given if you have to develop everything from scratch.

One thing to note before you quote... If someone is having a similar script, they will be able to do some modifications and give it to a less price. This is always a problem for a person who is going to write it from scratch. So you may have to convince the client that you are writing this from scratch exclusively for the requirements of him and going to give all source codes after development as there is almost no reseller value to a customized script.

thanks for your reply, really appreciate it.
I was expecting that price range too. but I was scared that it will be way too cheap/expensive.
that 'margin' and 'source code' suggestions are great (I'm new in freelancing, so I don't have enough experience is setting up the right price, still learning)

    thx :)

    10000$ is enough for it.
