What is the best email marketing solution for use with a website that is subscription based to allow me to send email to all members of the website?

If you already have enough customer info. Do not email to strangers.

There are many email marketing services available for you to choose and use. Most of them provide free trial. You can sign up the free trial to test their services before you make any further decision. In trial period, some services come with limit of emails you can send per months. And some other come with the limitation of numbers of contacts can you sent to. This page will guide and help you to get the right solution. First, I encourage you to read the following quick overview to get some ideas for choosing the right solution...

Try MailChimp, nice tool for email marketing, problem is it is free for first 500 users only, if number of users are more than this, you have pay for their different types of plan.

I mean what about using constantcontact.com as viable solution? I didn't see anyone mentioning it, however, I'm currently considering using this for my own email marketing (sending newsletters and such).

It is only useful if you have good number of contacts and just mailing to unknown contacts is just the waste of time . . . . and will be beneficial at all . . . .

Personally I would recomend, aweber or getaresponse. Everything is centralised and the setting up for the forms to sending the newletters very easy and powerful.

I've used COnstant COntact and Email Labs.

Both were fine. Lots of options & good delivery rates.

Most of email service providers will meet your need, as long as you have permission, and respond to unsubscribing timely.. no matter what provider you use, be sure to back up and download your list of subscribers periodically.. recent hack of a well known provider caused some customers to lose valuable subscribers
