Let's get some definitions straight, otherwise we'll just be running in circles.

Landing page: Any page on the Internet is a landing page. Doesn't matter what it is or its length. Abbreviated by some as LP, it is the page where someone ends up when clicking on your ad. This could be a page you created yourself - it could be informational, a blog or a sales pitch - or created by someone else, such as a merchant's sales page.

Affiliate link: a link to a page which is a sales pitch for a product or service on a different domain. These are tagged with unique IDs to determine which affiliate should get a commission if there is a sale.

Does Google object to pages with links to a "buy now" button on your site to the merchant's order page? I frankly don't know but this is a better user experience than sending to the merchant's sales pitch and be sold to again and find a buy now button. That's what Google doesn't like.

Imagine going to buy something at a store. You are greeted by a salesman and he pitches something you are interested in. He convinces you to buy the product. He then says that you now have to talk to another salesman who gives you the same or nearly the same sales pitch. Does that make sense? You were just sold and want to buy and pay for it. So why not send your PPC traffic to the merchant? They should know their product better than anyone and know how to sell it. Most affiliate marketers are simply trying to convince you its great. They don't know the product and have likely never used it.

Vaponte does not seem to be talking about PPC but developing pages for SEO purposes. That is OK. For now anyway as Google can very easily change their algo to take into account if you are an affiliate. While DownUnder will disagree, the original question was about using Adwords if you are an affiliate. I say, don't have a landing page with affiliate links.

In Response to Lucid Web, what you stated about landing pages, affiliate links, google all correct, but you are wrong I am not talking about SEO! You don't need a landing page in order to promote an affiliate program, BUT an landing page will increase your conversions, because it has for me!

Getting success as affiliate marketing is getting harder to achieve via adwords as there's too many affiliate marketer there, at least for me. You need long time to test each of your affiliate products & ads. Keyword tracking tool is one of tools will definitely help you a lot.
    good luck.

Another problem I can think of by sending traffic straight to merchant site is you can't see and analysis all the traffic.

I think you mean creating one of your own, don't you?

    > Another problem I can think of by sending traffic straight to merchant site is you can't see and analysis all the traffic.

Agree. While it is not a perfect solution, there are products out there to help.

Thank you Adpoint, and I agree with what you just stated! Google does love blogs, and article marketing! Also, one that they really like is EzineArticles.
