    Hello,

Ive been doing well with one of my sites and i was getting 200 hits from google. One day my server was done for about 12 hours and afterwards I saw my site not in the first page but was in the 5th page. I thought it was because google crawled my site and say a non existent site so it dropped me, but that should be fixed if it was crawled again. Its been about 7 days now and still no sign of it back to its original spot.

I have not lost any backlinks still the same, but ive gained some backlinks as well. Can someone please help me find out what could be the meaining of this?

my site is Cheapest VOIP Calls.
If possible I would love some help.

    Thanks

Well, if I were you, I will post this in google's forum and ask google support. Once my site was hacked by someone, and find the solution in google's forum.

What i think is ..because of the reason you explained it can never go to sandbox..But if you have built the site very recently and you have got really good back links then it can happen...means you site can go to sandbox..! Server down could not be the reason for that much drop...just tell me how many back links you have developed in how many days after starting the site ?

That's happened for my blog also, because of not found pages whatever may be the reason. When google don't find some pages for a site, then it adversely affects the SERP.But don't worry it'll come to its original position after 10-15 days.

This sounds like your site is in the "Google Dance". All new sites go through this. Sometimes it lasts a few hrs, other times it can last for weeks. Just continue what you are doing. Get strong backlinks, continue to update your content, and stop worrying. This is not something that happens over night.

I'm going through the same thing here. Funny thing is my site is 10 years old.

It happened before in Oct sometime, went down for about a week to 10 days. Still listed, but huge drop in serp. Then came back.

Now it's happening again. Maybe google is cooking up something.

It would be useful from those with more experience to chime in as to how long these drops are supposed to last.

Server downtime can lean to Google completely ignoring your site. Get a better webhost.

I can only speak for myself... but server downtime was NOT the problem. The server is running just fine.

I came cross that not long ago, and I guess it is due to the frequent adjustment we made to the website.

    Thanks for all the responses.

My site is 4 to 5 weeks old. I have about 10000 to 12000 backlinks and about 6000 are from 1 domain. The rest are seperated out. I beleive i have more then enough links to put me as an authority for my keyword which I was for about 3 weeks.

My server has always been good, thecubehost. They were migrating to new servers and therefore it was done. This happened once in 4 months now, so i cant blame them. Im just keeping at it, i fixed ALL my XHTML errors and now im w3c html validated. I removed some of my tables that i had because it was on every page which might cause problems with duplication. I am just cleaning up my site to see what is affecting it. Still no sign of improvement.

I was on 1st result for my url keyword when typed in without quotes not Im on page 2. I use to be ranked for other small keywords but it has all stoped. Hopefully, something will happen and maybe im just in that new site phase for google.

any other remarks for what i can do?

How new is your site? The drop in serps may be because your site went into the sandbox normally and not because your server was down for 12 hours..

My site is 1 month or so old. Why would a site go into sandbox? is it a punishment or some kind?

Does it happen to everyne and why does it happen?

OH GOD!!! Ok ive found something out, this is BAD!

I was going through my sidebar and googld adsense and somethign seemed odd. I found on my ad blocks and saw that this was not mine. I matched the adsense IDs and they were different. SOMEHOW someone changed my adsense info. I dont think i have control over my site anymore. I am not able to add anything to the sidebar and everytime I add a text widget with a adsense block in it, it disappears and the adsense does not show.

I think my site has been hacked somehow, What should I do? How did they get in??
