how to increase blog traffic

Hello everyone,

I was wondering how you can grow a blog further at a good pace once you have established some sort of momentum, i.e. a few hundred visitors a day. Is the only way creating quality content frequently? The usual traffic tips (guest posting, blog commenting, article marketing, forum posting) seem futile at this stage as they probably contribute to a max of 10% traffic increase.

First you need good content. That use all the techniques you mentioned.

I post a lot in forums specific to my field. Most of the time when I make a blog post I make posts about it else where linking back to my site. Seems to be working for me. The new site I am working on 509 Media is a little slow going. Been up about 2 months now. I am getting a decent amount of people visiting and have more work than I can do from it. So I guess I can not complain at the moment.

Traffic comes from having tons of great-quality posts and marketing them around the web. The easiest way to do that for blogs are with social networking sites and popular forums or new sharing websites. I would say try looking for forums within your niche, and also smaller Pligg-based sites to submit to. These are always great and provide an excellent source for backlinks. Ultimately your goal is to rank high in Google for keywords so you can draw organic traffic and never need to worry about marketing, but for now your best bet is to just get your link everywhere!

 

You could alo try using StumbleUpon and Twitter - they can send through a steady flow of traffic if used right

You need to get your site ranking in google for number one spot for whatever keywords you are going for. That and lots of content and backlinks. The longer you spend at it the more you'll learn but there are so many things you can do. Keep hanging around these forums and you'll pick up things you can do.

I use tweet later which lets you scedual tweets in advance. You can rotate them ever 2 hours, 4 hours or whatever, This has really helped me
