Keyword in <h1>{keyword}</h1>,<h2>{keyword}</h2>,<h3>{keyword}</h3>,etc 6. XML SiteMap 7. Backlinks from indexed pages 8. Backlinks from Pages with Higher Page Rank Then Your Page 9. Backlinks from .edu or .gov domain *If you knew then ignored.
These are definitely the basics but I am sure a lot of beginner like me will benefit from this. Much thanks.
If this is a seo cource, you never defined what a page Rank is. Some people do not know what that is.
You may also want to add point 10 - add ALT and TITLE tags for image optimization and seo indexing purposes.

Why you all guys think that keywords should be use in complete meta tag?? if i'm going to book domain without keyword then it can't rank in SERPS?? you have to concentrate on your site and make your site user friendly don't create your site for search engine, Do you know search engine like that site which are user friendly not search engine friendly. Target you keyword, Target your audience, Analysis your competitors then start good on page and off page work keep updating your site and refresh your content and use blogs, follow Google algorithm. that's it
