Hey Friends, I would like to get tips to write attractive tweets on twitter.com. I heard there are guys who are writing tweets professionally in an attractive way. Even thought twitter.com allows to have only 140, if the tweets are eye catching, people will check that tweet. Please share your tips on writing tweets and getting more traffic to websites?
On a very high level, most gurus advise to have a 1 in 5 ratio in terms of content vs. ad tweets. In other words, always tweet in batches of 5, and have 1 ad in each batch (preferably the last one, because it stays on top of your profile). The content tweet can be something for your niche, or just general news. For niche specific tweets, you can check AllTop.com, for general news type tweets StuffToTweet.com. For your own "ad" type of tweet, the only trick I heard is to make it all lower case. For some reason Twitter users like that, has a text message kind of feeling. Hope this helps.
As I think, the best way is reading other users ads and marking the eye catching ones of yours. Most of times I've found success in this way.
Your tweet space is only 140 characters. Tweet a blog post or an article with some useful information, you'll get followers that will come to you. What I do in the tweet itself is add keywords for people I want to attract. For example, if I want to share a really cool affiliate marketing video on domain forwarding, I'll say: "Affiliate Marketers may benefit from domain forwarding. Here's a demo video" then the shortened link with TINY URL or Bit.Ly. My keyword is affiliate marketers and domain forwarding and video.
agreed...just make sure you keep giving your audience VALUE/TIPS etc towards 'their' goals...keep to a ratio as said above; as you want to build followers more than sending them offers.
I think your tweets should follow a template: "Original Title of article/link source" tinyurl link Your own spin on the story Example: Brittany Murphy dies at age 32 "link here via tinyurl" So sad to see such a great talent die so young With this template your tweets make more sense, have a personal touch and deliver the information (which is the goal of the Tweet).
if this thread takes off in a few day...i'd say it would be invaluable to you...research and model these peoples tweet ratios. forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1630871
I don't want to tell you what to do, but it would be so much easier if you bought a Twitter Friend Adder and created tens of hundreds of accounts, gained tons of followers and marketed the links yourself. You'd save loads of money in the end and all it would require is putting in a bit of work.
I use tweetlater to schedule tweets in advance and it works well. You can schedule tweets in advance and have them rotate when you want.
Just keep who you're tweeting to in mind and remain professional. I have plenty of angry, funny, silly, boring, and outright foolish things to say. But I remember that companies may read my tweets -- companies that I will consult in the near future. So I do not say those things!! Keep your tweet informative -- i.e. "must know" information. Then shorten them so others can retweet them under 140 characters. It's not about ads, keywords, a bunch of followers, ratios or any of that other b.s. Your role on twitter is to be the "go to guy" for industry info. Period.
