i think to have good results on the search engines you will need a bit of everything... but blogs commenting will work better if you perform some bookmarking of the blog with your comments. the same goes for forums.

If you really need quick results, go for a combination of quick backlinks i.e cheap blog commenting, directory submission + Social bookmarking while spending a bit on buying blogposts on top sites which are not MFA but proper portals. In addition, buy a few homepage links on sites that are worth it and are just not made for link sales and you'r on your way. However, do keep in mind that for SERP improvement, nothing works out as good as optimized content + relevant site blogposts + regular content updation.

For me the best back links is the the links from a similar niche quality website where page is static. [The page shouldn't go achieve as in forum posting and article submission].

 

The strongest link is a link from a stronger page (with many related back links, from high pr sites and high traffic) or is on a strong domain and is from your business niche. Links from domains like: .edu .gov are considered as gold by search engines
