I have always used Hostgator as my number hosting company. They have support 24/7 if needed as well as different payment options

I have been using Microsoft Office Live for about 1 year at $14.95 a year, and have been happy with them.

I use Ix hosting- they are great and have been great to me for the past 5 years. You can check out the link in my signature.

I'd say true except for godaddy- they suck. Doing anything takes 15-30 minutes while 'creating' a db. it's so confusing and I have a few clients that I refused to work with them because of the host. The apache servers are so tight, you cant do anything with regex. i hate it.

HostGator is like Walmart. Everyone knows about them because of their branding. And they are okay, but by no means the best.

Hosting quality has a lot to do with the equipment the host uses, the support they give, and the pipeline they are attached to.

And you won't get the "Best" hosting from cheap shared hosts. But most people who use cheap shared hosts don't have enough traffic to see how good the host really is.
