It's still early days in the social media explosion - neither will disappear for a while yet. Remember that it took Twitter 2 years to really get noticed - so any potential competitor will probably face the same road ahead.

I highly doubt it, Facebook is a new mean of communications. Also Facebook connect is very powerful!

I don't think they will die. They will simply increase in popularity during 2010. I think they'll die in like... 2012.

I don't know if twitter is making any money. My understanding is that they have some huge venture capital to fund themselves, but no real income. Is that true? If they don't make money its really irrelevant how many subscribers they have, they will go bust.

Facebook? I don't know. I guess some new thing can come along and take over, much like they did with myspace IMO.

I guess, they'll be 'IN' for 2010. Definitely, we'll get a surprise for both of them as an evaluation ;)

Aren't we all suppose to die in 2012? At least according to the Mayan calender.

They're both going to be bigger and better in 2010 than the past year.

All of you who realize the potential and know how to effectively market your brand with both Twitter and Facebook, should be excited about this.

Those who don't know how, if you want to throw your business into high gear, you need to fall in love with both quickly and learn everything you can about them. Social marketing and networking is here to stay and is the biggest thing since the Industrial Revolution.

I honestly don't see either one of them going anywhere anytime soon. Both of them have people that will only use one or the other. They both have their strong and weak points.

Twitter is still growing pretty fast while facebook has slowed down a bit. Still, i dont see any possible replacements in the horizon yet.

I believe both twitter and facebook will both continue to grow. Things will change, but I believe they will both be going strong in 2010.

I believe both will still be big in 2010. I'm sure the younger sector will be looking for the next big network as their parents continue to invade what used to be "their" domain.
