Question on url

    Hi...I hav some question on if my server is abc.com & my folder path is http://www.myname.abc.com but i 1 make it become http://www.myname.com. Is it possible???I had try url masking, but url masking is just to make URL in their browser address bar remain the same.

    myname.com is a completely different domain than abc.com. You'd have to buy mydomain.com first (assuming someone else doesn't already have it) and then have abc.com redirect to mydomain.com. People will be able to see the redirect in their browsers. You can't use mod_rewrite here.

    hi,

    Well, I was able to get the answer for the question..... It is interesting but yes it is possible..
    take for example -

    your servername is = http://myname.abc.com
    your desired name is = http://www.myname.com

    if you have registered a domain name - http://www.myname.com and have pointed the dns server address to the server http://myname.abc.com and is hosting it on a free server. this thing is possible.
