But the gas is included in the price. And you tip the pizza-deliverer, that guy/girl won't share the tip with his boss 'to pay for the gas'
I just give any delivery guy that comes by with my food $5 no matter what the cost, but it's usually under $20.
It depends. There are a few places I order from frequently. I usually get the same guy/gal. I give them around 3 dollars and my bill is usually around 17. If it is raining, snowing or icy, I will usually give them 5. I think the most I ever gave someone was 7...but it was REALLY bad out. We had a bad ice storm and it was about -20 degrees out. I felt bad for making him come out, even though it was his job.
I tip a weiter 20%. So I ti the Pizza person the same. It is an extreme service to drive the pizza to you and they deserve the tip if they get there while it is still hot.
For me it doesn't matter if the person who delivers is a female or male, black or white ,young or old, if I'll tip that person I'll tip her/him for customer service and quality of the product. Cheers.
I have a story to tell. My friend who is a pizza man gave no tip once too. He worked at a smaller pizza company, but every so often would like to order from Papa Johns near his house. He could actually walk to this place, but he was lazy. He ALWAYS gave a big tip because he knew all the troubles involved in the business. Everyone at this papa johns knew he was a big tipper and would go to his house first. One day a guy from the Papa Johns franchise came an hour and a half late and chuckled and said, "Sorry I'm late." My friend chuckled back and said "That's okay." and gave him the exact change. The guy still expected a big tip and his chuckle turned into a frown. I told my friend he was trying to test him. Nobody was ever late after that though.
Oh, I my friend who is a pizza delivery man has also received buds from hippies as a tip before and he doesn't even smoke. He told me that many pizza men get smoked up while on delivery runs. lol.
I tip 2-3 bucks BUT I don't ever feel obligated to do so. Never FEEL like you owe them simply for driving to your pad to drop off something that usually costs you $10 to $30 to purchase. If I don't have the cash I don't tip, am I worried about them spitting in my pizza next time? nope but if there is a way to find out they did I can see a great lawsuit in my future and soak the company for all they are worth for hiring pricks like that.
in the uk we dont tip them at all, their payed a wage i see no reason to tip them for doing their job especially the time some of them take to deliver.
i used to work for a popular pizza place as a delivery driver and i worked in a very rich area and i was happy if i got a buck from each if i got 2 i was jumping for joy and i can remember getting 5 dollars from a house once and i can still remember exactly where the house is.
For me it depends. A lot of places charge a "delivery charge" I always ask if that money goes to the driver. If the answer is yes, then I don't bother tipping the driver. If there is no delivery charge or the money doesn't go to the driver, then I always tip $1-$2. I'm more apt to tip $2 if they get there in a decent amount of time or they come in bad weather. When I was in college my one roommate was a delivery driver. Since he was mostly delivering to college students he always got weird tips. Some people asked him if he smoked, which he did, and they'd give him a cigarette. A lot of times people would give him a can of beer for a tip. Which, as a college student himself beer was an awesome tip, because he usually always had a nice supply of beer in the fridge he never had to pay for. (Yes, he was 21 I don't endorse underage drinking)
Here in my country its okay not to give any tip. Because its already deducted in your bill. But I'm giving like 1$
