What's the best place to buy a domain at?
Preferably something that isn't going to get suspended! Is there anyway to hide the the website you registered the domain at?

Namecheap is the best. You get free WHOIS protection with your domain name.

why you think its going suspended ? are you planning to run warez , illegal sales , hacking etc ? then no registrar will help you as all icann registrars have some sort of agreements

GoDaddy used to be my registrar of choice, but I have since migrated ALL of my domains to NameCheap, for various reasons. NameCheap is better and provides free WHOIS Guard with your domains.

I was wondering... is the free whoisguard at Namecheap for just one year, or for the lifetime of the domain?

And to answer the OP's question, I personally prefer Name.com if you want to get free domain privacy. I don't think there is a way to hide the domain registrar from the whois, but I could be wrong.

I would never register at 1&1, they're a horrible provider.

I use GoDaddy mostly, I use namecheap off and on, but mostly GD.
