What Should I Do To Boost Rank?

I am stuck at #8 for my keyword and it doesn't seem to improve at all.

What are some basic tips to improve that rank?

And is linking on forums with for example: My Keyword a good way to improve the rank? I heard forums do not count anymore.

Any ideas are welcome!

 

forums do count but very little. You can take sites up the SERPs w/ sig links but when you stop backlinking - they'll fall back down. At least most of them...there are exceptions.

Nice suggestions there, well I would say keep continue the effort you would definitely get the results, try link exchange and video submission they are very good to improve back links as well as traffic.

 

also build backlinks to your subpages not only to your homepage!

 

You need to take massive acton on a regular basis to reach and keep good rankings.

It's all about creating backlinks from anywhere you can, like the author bio in articles you write and submit to article submission services, submitting fresh content articles to your own site or blog, commenting on articles on other peoples blogs, submitting your site to free directories, commenting in forums with a backlink to your site underneath your sig.

If you need to see how many backlinks your competition have then type your keyword phrase into the Google search box and make a note of the top two sites on page 1 and maybe the top listed site on page 2 then visit a backlink checker site like SEOCentro and compere the results with your own site and can see how many backlinks you need to beat them.

You can check anything you like with this free site including PR, Keyword Analizer, Meta Tags etc etc and visit there on a regular basis to see how you are doing

just copy what the top 7 sites are doing in terms of links.I did that for one of my keywords a few weeks ago and i am now in second postion from about 15th

 

that depends on the forum, I suggest you get either SEO quake or search status addons for firefox, they allow you to see which links are do follow or not...

No.. search result postions constantly update. PR is the one that takes months

 

Try to see what the other sites ahead of you in the serp's are doing by way of backlinks or adding good content, etc. Then copy those factors and implement them in your site also. That way you can move ahead in rankings factor.

 

Try to get more relevant links as it gives more heavy weight towards your SEO point.

Forums do count as backlinks.

I suggest you to get more unique IP and domain backlinks from
- social bookmarking
- article directories
- website directories
- blog comments
- forum posts

Try to get links from relevant sites only.
Dofollow will be better for Google ranking.

 

I have same problem & my friend suggest me to make blogs on website with good contain & then do submission of that blog with website keywords.
