Hey (I hope this is the right place) I've got a new website and was wondering, what should I do to get it very big, and have lots of guests? Should I pay, what / who should I pay, etc. I've really needed help with this for years. Thanks.
Well that is a good start, you want it to be big. Congrats! You have aspiration! Ok, you are going to need to learn some promotion and marketing, if you dont know it already. Paying for traffic, personally, the only traffic that I pay for is through CPC only. That does great for me, what you are going to need to do, if you are wanting to create a socalled "SuperSite" is firstly, make sure that your site is worthy of that. Is it the new Facebook, etc etc. You are going to need to market it. Use Social Networking like you have never used social networking before, use www.pingler.com, that will help drive traffic and bots to your site so that you can get indexed. You say that you have needed help for years, so I will assume that this is a stupid question, but have you properly researched your keywords that you would like to dominate? If so, what are you doing in order to dominate them? Create hundreds of backlinks, do this every day! More backlinks, the more search engine juice you shall get from your chosen keywords. Have you done link research? There are a ton of things that you can do to boost traffic to your site, just a matter of finding what works for you and what doesnt. Good luck!
Well you should hire professional writers to write content relavant to your site's theme and then you may create pages and add them to your site and do it on regular intervals and also focusing on promoting the site and soon your site will be bigger with good quality content.
Just kind of a side note, on my forum, I hired some professional posters and they added a lot of content to my site and boosted the visibility of my forum. It was a worthwhile investment in my opinion.
Sounds like you need to educate yourself on the basics of internet marketing. There are tons of ebooks and courses on the net.
I think the only way sites can get REALLY big is through word of mouth (people recommending your site). Advertising helps but, it can only take you soo far. I think the most important thing to make a really big site is to either make a site that is very general (not about any specific topic or niche) and is of interest to a lot of people (social networking kind of thing) or make a site that is about a particular topic / niche that is really popular (movies, sports, news etc. and google would help here). If you have the first kind of site (social network like) then you need to have something unique to offer. And then get featured on review sites etc. A PR release would help. If you have a site that's focused on content then, you need to focus on SEO.
Get good article content and then promote your site on sites like ezine, twitter, facebook, social bookmarketing sites like digg and stumble upon.

You can have a poster post w/ your name, his or her name, or a bunch of different names. The latter strategy questions ethics.
