    No, there is no restrictions. You can have blinding colors that hurt viewers' eyes and they won't care.

    There is no restrictions but it will be best if you go with a theme that matches you webiste's looks and feels.

    People say that color should be matching with website's color theme but I have different experience, I get higher CTR with blue (default) links.

    the text color should be stronger than your post text so it stands out a bit more. your url should be lighter so people dont see it well and think its a link on your site. bg should and border should match the body.

    Blue Links / black text / grey URL / No border /------------- Best for most publishers as many people still believe only blue color titles are LINKS. [might be google search results which only have blue links]

    your color must match with your theme to get maximum benefit. there is no such restriction using any color.
