In my opinion yes. Just think to yourself 100 x 10 games will equal no money. I rarely buy my games new anymore, I just wait at gamestop for a used edition for about a quarter of the price off. Although in most cases gamestop doesn't sell used pc games, I'll stick with my ps3 slim.

MMORPG you usually pay more than 100$, but for a single game.. like a consol game. That I would say 100$ is too much, a MMORPG you get 100$ of play time not in a consol game.

$50 is too much for a game. I don't even buy them until they've been around for at least a year, and the price drops significantly.

I won't even buy them whatsoever if they have DRM.

$100 is too much for a pc game. I would rather waste that kind of money on some domain names, or my website, lol.

Also, I might not have much time to play it even if I purchase it from a store. So, the best luck of me buying a $100 pc game, is to re-sell it. But, the chances of that happening is 0.02%.

If I wanted the game so bad, then I would wait a few weeks till the price drops, and maybe I might purchase it just to have the experience of the game.

I would say it depends on what the game is. If it's a best seller, that everyone wants, then I would say $100 isn't too expensive.

$100 for one game is extortionate! I would wait a couple of months till it is half that price!

$100 for a game isn't too much if they can get people to pay it. That said, nearly doubling the standard MSRP would be a pretty tall order. If it were something particularly special, or had a special peripheral along with it, I'd consider it (like Steel Battalion, the mech simulator), but otherwise, I'd be waiting for it to get marked down.

Then again, I haven't owned or had access to a computer even remotely out of obsolescence since 1996, so it's moot. X3

Why buy a game to $ 100 when you can buy it after a few months to below $ 50 .

With steam, if you wait for sales, you can get tons of games on the cheap, I probably have paid less than 1/6th the retail value of the games in my steam account.

If you go back 10 - 15 years, computer game prices have actually gone down a little bit. If anything, they have stayed about the same.

In 1995 I paid around $49 - $59 for Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness
In 1997 I paid $59 for Quake II
    In 1998 I paid $49 for half-life 1
    In 2004 I paid $49 for half-life 2
In 2004 I paid $49 for Doom III
    In november, 2009 I paid $49 for left 4 dead 2

To answer the question about a $100 PC game - no, I would not pay that.
