How to analyse traffic ?

Before buying a site , i need to analyse traffic .
Sometimes , Google analytics data is not possible . How to analyse such traffic ?

Is there any sites offering such service ? Most of the time alexa is not trustable

Why not ask the seller for the google analytics report... if they don't have a google analytics page then you know this person has poor management skills to setup a single script into their website... i know 9/10 website owners know about analytics... look for that if not i don't think there is a 3rd party source.

 

you can ask to see thier awstats as well,maybe a screenshot of all traffic and sources,or maybe they let you in their admin panel to see details as well

 

Awstats is known to be unreliable also but i think the most alarming part of this comment is that you think that people would allow another person who is still unrelated to the website into the cpanel?!

If i wanted to by miniclip and they said yeah have a look in my cpanel at the traffic do you honestly think that i would look at the awstats log out and pay the $x million asking price or would you look to create a full back up and say no thanks?

I'm not someone that would do this but come on, wae up here....!

 

Where on earth did you get 9/10 website owners know about google tools?

Nearly all of my clients didnt/dont know or heard about google webmaster tools or analytics!

well, alexa is updating the status constantly.

 

use this piwik opensource program . its just like analytics.

 

google analytic is best to identify traffic

 

stat counter is good for tracking

It seems you guys are really pushing paid sites.... why?

 

I use Google analytics and wordpress stat counter in analyzing my traffic. For me they are the best tool if you want to track your traffic.

google analytics is accurate for me

 

You can ask the owner to produce google analytics or awstats or some other traffic analyse tool presence in their hosting. If they could not provide anything, try quantcast.com or compete.com

There are many analytics tool available for webmasters but all to access these you must be the owner of the site or you want the username & password from the site owner to access these features.

 

Since i am a beginner in SEO and to be honest i am not aware of this question, but even i am interested to know what is the best method to analyse traffic of a site.

 

for Sites traffic analysis you can used http://www.compete.com/ or Google Analytics or sitemeter.com or statcounter.com

 

I agree with him. I am using stat counter in my site and I am happy.
