Google Adwords has a tool called Traffic Estimator. The tool has you input a keyword, the CPC bid and the area which you will target (geo-targeting). The resulting report will show you the estimated clicks per day, estimated position and estimated cost per click.

Perhaps you need to get some free google guide available on net. It will show you many basic things.

Seconding the use of both SpyFu and the Google External Keyword Tool. I think that SpyFu estimates tend to be a little high, and of course Google is only reporting on Google traffic so you won't get reliable estimates for Yahoo or Bing. Better to use both to get a clearer estimate.

All estimates are very vague, since the price you pay depends on YOUR landing page QS and CTR of YOUR ads, so testing is a must. The price you really have to pay can easily be just a fraction of what the keyword tool tells you or more if your landing page and ads are bad.

I can't seem to get my reports to give me the actual, not estimated, clicks per keyword. I can see the total for the day but not which keywords were clicked for that total. How can I make the report do this?

When you run a report, you have to choose "Show Estimated Avg. CPC" under the "Choose columns to display" drop-down at the top. It won't show you the CPC by default.
