Hi All, Please could someone tell me what's the best way to integrate a forum into Wordpress? Is there a reliable plugin (free or paid) that can do the job? Thanks, GEO
There are a few free forums what you can use with Wordpress. All depending on what forum you want to use. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-smf-a-simplemachines-bridge/ http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=134521 Just examples.
If you going for free and want something easy to work with. Go with http://simplepressforum.com The forum uses the wordpress user database.
I have got wordpress & vBulletin both on my site www.sitereviver.com & www.sitereviver.com/forums but I did not use any plugin or something like that. Both sections coded and installed separately and everything is working great
Will check it out, Site Reviver. The interesting thing I noticed about Simplepress is that it uses the WP MySql database, so it would seem to resolve a double-registration issue. We have to make it as simple as possible, right!?
Try http://www.mybboard.net/ Its free and has 100's of plugins and themes. You can even make the admin area look a little like wordpress admin http://mods.mybboard.net/view/cpress
Hey basically i know 2 options that worked for me 1. V-bulletin (paid) 2. Vanilla ( free ) 3. BBPress plugin cheers Josh
