Surge of strange traffic

    I have been getting massive loads of traffic the last few days to 2 of my websites.

    The thing is they are all coming with no reffer tag and also almost all of them are 1 hit wonders and dont browse my site just hit the homepage.

    Is there any way i can find out where this traffic is coming from? Urchin and my own stats script say they came from nowhere....

    I am just confused to see my uniques go so high and not have a clue why.

    Can you see the referers at all? Have you looked at your Apache logs for that date?

    That should give you an indication of which site the traffic is coming from.

    agree with onehundredandtwo, you will know the reason after you see visit history in hosting control panel.
