I have been seeing a lot of posts out there about advertising using craigslist. I understand in order to post on craigslist, you must verify your account with a phone#. What exactly are the steps you must go through to create the account on craigslist? Do you have to confirm the email address? Do they record your IP?
Perhaps the number verification is new, only for certain areas or just as an added optional security. All I have had to do is confirm my email address. They send you a "publishers kit" which is just a fancy word for you to confirm your email address.

Everytime I try to post on Craigslist, it asks me to log-in or to create an account. Once you sign-up for the account, you need to phone verify it which you have the option to receive a phone call or text with a verification code. All this takes less than 2 minutes and beneficial for traffic.
