Nice! Looks like a good product, but I'm not too hot about seeing that you're capturing emails on the sales page :(

Why? As a vendor he wants to follow up with people who choose not to buy on the first visit... Or would you prefer that the people who don't buy on the first visit are lost forever?

@Terryd: That I already did, my friend. Still, it's not enough reassurance for me. I think vendors should feel free to capture e-mails in their own test landing pages, not in the the actual sales page.

In this instance, there are two e-mail forms and just one order button. Gets my affiliate sense tingling in the bad way, know what I mean?

Any good marketer knows people dont buy on the first visit hardly. im not even right now considering mailing the list until i get an auto responder written up and dont have time for that now. this opt in is also an avenue for the customer too see exactly what they are buying to increase sales and decrease refunds.

The page looks nice but I wouldnt even consider promoting a site that has email forms...

Any good marketer knows also that you can't trust anybody in this business.
I see it as a way of getting a free email list, with the help of affiliates.

Hmmm. Yup. On the other hand, I guess a clever affiliate would also be capable of covertly subscribing a mailing list, as to keep track of which links come up in the actual mails, down the road. Unless he forgot doing so, being distracted with other campaigns.

I'm holding my ground, here: vendors should keep from doing e-mail captures in the actual sales page. At very least, they should stick to doing it only through a pop up displayed when the user tries to close the window.

On a similar note, I REALLY think CB aff links should not overwrite previous cookies. The oldest referrer should get credit for the sale, not the newest. I can't understand why they're doing it the the way around.

Anyway, I don't mean to hi-jack this thread. Apart from the aforementioned technicality, this is a very decent sales page, and it certainly looks like a good product, which I'm seriously considering trying to promote.

And I do like how the author is allowing for potential customers to get a sample of the e-book. I just wish I could give them that sample myself trough my landing pages, and get to keep their e-mails in my own list. :p

Wow, that's an amazing affiliate support you've got going there, innit? :p

Concerning your argument, here's a word of advice:

If you only do what the top clickbank sites have done in the past, you'll never get anywhere close to them.
Greatness calls for innovation. Mediocrity settles for repetition.

You have a nice day, sir.

You know, I intially thought the thread was going to be about NBC'S Biggest Losers (another weight loss product), but I misread it.
