Hi folks. I need some advice.

I need to send out emails to my subscribers but my host has put a limit of 250 emails per hour. I have over 2000 subscribers that i need to mail daily.

I have a cron job set up to mail 50 every 15 mins to get around the problem, but it takes too long to send out to all subscribers.

I have asked my host if there is anyway they can take off the limit, but they want me to take a dedicated server, which is going to cost a fortune.

Any ideas how I can get around this problem.

I have been told i need to change the SMPT server, but im not sure how to do this, and who's SMPT server to use.

    Help please. :)

This is the problem you're going to face with most shared hosting providers.

Your best bet, by far, is to go with an external service such as aWeber or GetResponse. Not only can you do as many mailings as you want and track your emails properly, your inbox delivery rate (and therefore your conversions and your income) will likely rise through the roof! (aWeber works hard on keeping the inbox rate at its best - while shared hosting IPs tend to be reported for spam VERY quickly - even by your own subscribers - resulting in worse and worse inboxing day by day).

Alternatively, get yourself a VPS or a dedicated server that would let you do whatever you want.

If you have 2,000 subscribers then you should be able to make more than enough sales to justify either of the above expenses. We're talking about only $20 to $30 a month.

I second this persons opinion, if you decide aweber looks better suited for you but is too expensive check out one of their pl versions such as profollow.com which is the same system but at the old prices minus a few new features that have been added but nothing crucial. for $19.99 per month you can have a list of 10,000 subscribers with unlimited emails and autoresponders.
