    Seems your opinion is true.
I do think that your website may be blacklisted.
Did you purchase it from someone else?

Well you've only got 12 backlinks although it should have been indexed by now.

Why don't you put the site in your signature? That will help

Please don't post false information. If google were to index the site at all, it'd have been done in a few months at the latest, which is how long the OP has said it's been around.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1442814

I did the post above October. I have since changed the site to a wordpress set up as normally I can get these indexed in a few days.

inkaseo, I own a number of directories, if I build a new site I can submit to one of my directories and normally have the site indexed in about 3 days. I think I have had quicker results and some that have taken a lot longer. Im sure that there is another reason this one is not indexed.

I even purchased a .co.uk with the word optimization to see if I could get that indexed, it did take a while, maybe about three weeks but in the end it got indexed.

So guys if this is blacklisted sandboxed or what ever its called is that it the domain is written off as a bad name and thats it?

I bought it after it dropped. Looks like I purchased it during 2008, I also seem to recall it was parked for most of the time before I set a site up on it.

    Thanks

    James

go to google webmaster tools sign up the site and claim it. there is a link in the webmaster tools to get google to "reconsider" your site.

your robots.txt file (in the sites root directory) says

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /

    PHP:
that disallows all useragents (crawlers like googlebot) access to that domain which is probably why it dont get indexed

You can remove robots.txt, that would solve it, or you can adapt robots.txt.

    http://www.honeytechblog.com/how-to-decide-the-robots-txt-for-wordpress-blogs/
have a basic explanation on robots directives

For a Wordpress site I myself start with something like this :

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin
    Disallow: /wp-admin
    Disallow: /wp-includes
    Disallow: /wp-content

    # Google Image
    User-agent: Googlebot-Image
    Disallow:
    Allow: /*

    # Google AdSense
    User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
    Disallow:
    Allow: /*

    # Internet Archiver Wayback Machine
    User-agent: ia_archiver
    Disallow: /

    PHP:
That works for most wordpress-sites. After you either drop the file or change it and ping google, the site should show in the index within three days.

Most probably you have unchecked the search engine indexing option at install.

    You can enable it again:

Log in as admin -> Settings ->Privacy ->I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers

Try the Webmasters central program with Google. It's a MUST if you want a quick index.

If you've done all of the stuff everyone has listed here, then it just comes down to the fact that no one really knows how to perfect Google lol... Google has their algorithms that remain a secret to all of us and since they run the show, they decide who gets indexed and who gets top ranking on search results.

I'm such a dick. Thanks all, looks like it is the .txt file. I have gone to the admin side of things and made it so that everyone can see the site.

@ Juust or any one else who can answer

How did you check the .txt file? Is there an add on to the url or something like that. Sorry for being thick just never knew this stuff.

For some reason every other blog I set up has had the option to index ticked and this one has not. Dam!

    Thanks

    James

I ave looked at some of my other sites using wordpress and some seem to be set up with yes ticked and some not. Not sure why some are and some are not.

Another question now, how long will Google take to now index the site, and on my other sites that are indexed that dont have a description in Google. How long will Google take to add this?

    Thanks

    James

If you are using wordpress then first of all please check the privacy settings section, If it is okay then you will need to keep going with your work and update it regularly. It may take some more time but at last you will see the results. one of my friend faced the same issue and the reason which you are thinking about was same with him and after waiting for some days his blog was indexed and now it is ranking well for his targeted keywords. Generating backlinks will also help you as my friend did the same.

    This thread is funny.

You just need more high quality backlinks.

    Try paid media.

If not some good old fashion SEO could help you out and
also a traffic plugin for wordpress. There's a ton of those.

@ JamesB I use SeoQuake, a Firefox add-on. It shows the most common indicators (pr, indexed pages, robots.txt and sitemap, backlinks @yahoo) and can be integrated in search engine result pages so you can check the competitions indicators.
